Video Player Mfc Application Has Encountered
I too was having problems in exactly the same way. No matter what I did it was always the same message. I tried to find patches but to no avail. I finally had to come to the conclusion that windvd8 was clashing with some other programme. The only one I could think of was Nero7 Essentials.

My situation is that I am encountering this message “CompanionLink MFC Application has encountered a problem and needs to close. Top Five 3D Video Players 2013. Audio/video/gaming accessories. PCDMM MFC application has encountered an error' message on my Philips player.
I removed all of Nero and then again tried windvd8. Same MFC message. Then I removed windvd8 and re-installed from download.
Now everything works fine and is better than WMP and Windvd media theatre. I think that mainly its a clash between other players depending on which you make the default player.
At least that's what has happened to me. It may not work for anyone else of course. Can anyone help with this message??
'WinDVD MFC Application has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.'
Since replacing a motherboard and installing WinXP I have encountered this message numerous times with several apps. In the case of WinDVD, however, I have used the application frequently and never had the problem until today. Now I am blocked from running WinDVD because the app is shut down every time I launch it. As usual Microsoft 'help' doesn't. This problem never ocurred in Win2K.
I would be happy just to turn off the grand new 'feature' that results in this action & message if I had a clue what it was.
All, have Dimension 8300, Windows XP Home Edition and running McAfee virus scan, Firewall, Spamkiller. Atlante Di Anatomia Umana Martini Pdf. Have also installed Win TV 2000 via USB port. Audigy 2 soundcound. Background Bought new game last week Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2004 and installed - everything working fine until last night. I was running PGA tour and switched user to let my daughter check a word document.
When I went back to the pc later to resume, CtHelper MFC application error message appeared and NO SOUND from speakers - just a hum. No sound either from windows media player, Realplayer etc - sound on Win TV 2000 still fine though! My daughter assures me that she encountered no problems/anything unusual. I have tried to Sytem Restore for circa 5 different restore points but all incomplete! So much for restore points! Have tried various checks - creative diagnostic tests say evertyhing is ok although I cannot try speaker test because I am not given speaker set up to choose from! Volume controls etc on.
Have now run out of ideas and would greatly appreciate help in solving this very frustrating problem. Many thanks in advance Haffy Message Edited by haffy on 05:44 PM.
