Have you had the demo or a previous version of Football Manager installed on your Mac? Some people are finding that they're having problems because there are still files from older versions buried away on their machines that are causing conflicts and stuff. Give this a try – take a look in your home folder in Library/Caches/Sports Interactive/ and see if any folders with 'Football Manager' in their name are in there. If there are, delete them and try launching the application again. Hopefully clearing the cache like this might do the trick. One other potential cause of your problem.
