I just would like to tell you in a short text who I am and why I know stuff like this. You can obviously skip this part. My nickname is XiiNTY or Miles, I am german and used to be a competitive CoD4 and MW2 player (CoD4 on sites likes and MW2 on esl.eu only). Through the years I was able to collect multiple thousand playhours and played in many tournaments/ cups/ clanwars. So I got my experience in MW2 and also came from CoD4, a game in which every player modified their config. Most of the people even knew tweaks like setting up their drivers to be able to see way more/ sharper and stuff like that. I dont know why this knowledge got lost with time. When I started playing MW2 competitivly I noticed that close to everybody is talking nonsense about configs.,,You can get a no-recoil config, you are able to mod your health in your config' just as an example (such stuff is only possible with sv_cheats 1 which would require a hosting mod like liberation). It annoyed me to see people who are not able to loose and blamed it on the enemys config as an excuse.

I got all my knowledge from diffrent guides and own researches in many configs. You can also do it, just look up 'CoD4 config guide' on google. CoD uses the same engine since years so most of the commands are still working. Also the CoD engine is just a modded Quake3 engine so even some config commands from quake work as well. What many people dont know is that you can improve your ping in your config, the following tweaks should help you: seta cl_maxpackets '100' (default value is 30) - Amount of packets sent per second seta cl_maxPing '110' (default value is 800) -This will connect you to a server with maximum X (in this case 110) amount of ping seta cg_ScoresPing_Interval '20' (default is 100) - If you have ping interval on 100 it means you have a 100 ping when you have full bars. If you have your ping interval on 20 it means you have 20 ping if you have full bars, and 20 extra ping for each bar that is gone, so if you have 6/10 bars you have a 100 ping. Seta snaps '30' (default is 20) - Number of times to update player postions, should smooth out movement and hit registration seta cg_ScoresPing_MaxBars '10' (default value is 4) - Total number of latency bars. The more bars, the more precise the ping will be displayed.
