Remote Sessions Remote Sessions Notes: The Remote Sessions page is available for assets running Axeda® Gateway, Axeda® Connector, and Axeda® Agent Embedded Agents as well as. For assets running these agents, you can run and view the history of the remote session types listed in this page. Refer to for more information about running remote sessions with assets running IDM Agents. You must be defined in a user group with security privileges to this page to start remote sessions on assets. This page shows a 'No items found' message if this asset's agent was not configured to support any remote sessions.
As with other tools in Axeda® Connected Product Management Applications, your Platform administrator can configure Remote Session operations and behaviors, such as timeout lengths and so forth. This page will be available again once the asset is unmuted. The Remote Sessions page for an asset provides tools for starting on deployed assets configured with support for those sessions. § Remote Application session - enables you to connect to applications actively running on a remote asset. All remote application sessions configured for a selected asset are shown in the Remote Sessions table with a type of application. The Axeda® Deployment Utility is an example of an application that, when the Axeda Agent is configured to support it, can be started through the Remote Sessions page (or module). § Remote Browser session - enables you to connect, through your local Internet browser, to an asset configured for remote browser sessions. All remote browser sessions configured for a selected asset are shown in the Remote Sessions table with a type of browser.
§ Remote 'Desktop' or 'VNC' session - enables you to share to a remote asset's screen or desktop, for example to permit remote administration or operator education using that remote asset. To use Axeda Desktop Viewer, the asset must have the Axeda Desktop Server installed; to use Axeda Access Viewer through the Service or Access application s, the asset must have the Axeda Access Remote application installed. The Quick Launch feature for remote desktop sessions allows users to start this type of session without having a viewer application installed. Refer to to learn how this feature works.
